RADAR: Senator Biden, Fix VAWA, Not I-VAWA!
Sen. Biden, Fix VAWA, Not I-VAWA
It wasn’t enough for Senator Joe Biden to destabilize American families with the passage of the Violence Against Women Act, an onerous law that has proven to be a disaster for fragile families, and, by its very title, is a venomous indictment of men.
Now Senator Biden wants to export VAWA to the rest of the world. This male-bashing law would be called the International Violence Against Women Act, or “I-VAWA.” To learn more why I-VAWA would be a disaster, see: http://mensnewsdaily.com/2007/01/17/why-senator-joseph-biden-must-block-i-vawa
But if we act now, we can convince him to drop this risky idea.
TODAY, please call/fax/write Senator Biden and politely ask him to:
“FIX VAWA, NOT I-VAWA”
Senator Biden needs to understand that VAWA is hurting families, men, and children. Before we even think about I-VAWA, we first need to fix VAWA – it shouldn’t just be about violence against women. The problems with VAWA are extensively documented in RADAR’s Special Reports, which can be viewed at: http://www.mediaradar.org.
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT BIDEN’S PHONE AND MAILBOXES BECOME VERY BUSY THIS WEEK WITH YOUR MESSAGES.

Fax: 202-224-0139

Act now – we want Senator Biden to hear from thousands of concerned citizens this week!

< ![CDATA[Frankly, I would rather that they REPEAL VAWA.
If we were not having to sell Treasury Bills to the House of Saud to finance our bloated federal budget with its massive bureaucracy and pork barrel regime, President Bush and Condoleeza Rice might not sound so stupid on so many occassions and we might actually have oil drilling in Alaska, in the Gulf of Mexico, and be finishing our nuclear plants and building oil shale refineries in Colorado and Wyoming.
That is just the strategic reason for balancing the federal budget. Repealing VAWA would be progress toward such goal.]]>

< ![CDATA[Update:
From Media RADAR

Well, Senator Biden was in for a pretty good surprise this morning.
I tried to send a fax at 10 AM, and couldn’t get through. So I called his office. “We’ve got a technician in here fixing the machine,” the surprised receptionist told me. “Try again in half an hour.” I did, and this time the fax machine was busy.

I called Sen. Biden’s office at 2:25 PM today. Male staffer answered. I identified myself and said “I’m opposed to I-VAWA. Our own VAWA needs to be fixed first. It provides nothing for half of all DV victims — male DV victims.”
Staffer said “thank you” and was about to hang up. I asked “don’t you want any contact information for me?” He said “no, they’re just taking a tally.”
From me- WAY TO GO!]]>

< ![CDATA[Amazing that more people have not commented on this! A I-VAWA is the most insane thing I have heard yet! Until they notice both genders in VAWA why make yet another nightmare!
SAFE (Stop Abuse For Everyone) and RADAR need to lead a campaign in getting more people to this posting which I found very informative!
SAFE? RADAR?]]>

< ![CDATA[It took a while for me to even access an email that worked but I eventually managed to join the protest. I have sent him a blast. If nothing else it will add to his communications problems. I doubt the man has ears though. I wonder if lead-mail would work.]]>

< ![CDATA[I got my communications off to Sen. Biden, but as poorly as this man serves the citizenry in an unbiased manner regarding domestic violence, I fear to think how horrible he would be as President.]]>

< ![CDATA[I'm sorry, what a waste of time! Fix VAWA? WE DON'T NEED IT! Assualt, Assualt with a deadly weapon, peace bonds, trespass laws, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseam and some still act like more legislation is needed! What's needed is enforcement of existing laws, not new laws!
But trying to stop the rampant spread of the Feminist/Communist virus isn't working.
Good luck. Just don't be surprised when your efforts fail.
And believe me, I'm pulling for ya'll!]]>
