A Tragedy Hit Home

Tonight my roommate’s 18-yr-old daughter was in a car accident. I took the mom to the hospital. The girl’s boyfriend had been driving and there were 2 other boys in the back seat.

This girl used to be my daughter’s best friend until they had a disagreement recently.  If they had been getting along my daughter might have been in the car.  The boy who was with my daughter that night would have been in the car if he wasn’t with her.  And they had just dropped off my roommate’s son and his friend right before the accident.

Both boys in the back seat died. One at the scene and one after surgery.  Some of the kids in the car didn’t wear their seatbelts.

The driver most likely was speeding; it was something he did.  But there was also construction going on and the road is unsafe.  A firefighter said there have been multiple accidents there.

The boyfriend is in a coma with brain damage. He started coming to and fighting to get up so they sedated him more.

My roommate’s daughter is in a coma with brain damage, a small skull fracture and a fractured arm. At first there was no reponse at all to anything. I was so scared. Then finally she moved her feet, her fingers and her head, and even opened her eyes for a moment.

Please pray or send good thoughts for these two kids. The boy is Tyler and the girl is Savanna.
